green butterflies
at long last
just in the last few hours
faint hints of color
dust the tree limbs
for months I've been
awaiting this very moment
when swelling leaf buds
pop open with joy
now just born
tender growing leaves
long to dance
on the wind
soon —
like green butterflies
freed from chrysalises —
they will

Hey, congrats! You are the featured Blogster! And this post is a good example of why...it's beautiful! It "feels" spring!
Always a treat when you come by....
We are seeing both here now.
The yellow Monarch that circles my home and figure eights through the Pines. I wonder in awe...what magic it is weaving.
What magic are you weaving today?
Haven't been on blogster in a long time.....but it is my home page when I open IE. Noticed that you were featured blogster and just knew that your honor deserved my time to log in and say congrats!
It just ain't the same place anymore....hard to motivate myself to get on here.
