Happy April Fool's Day

April 1, 2008 / by martne

In honor of April Fool's Day:

The light of spring
   On the emerald earth,
Two giggling souls,
   And a mood of mirth,
A foolish jest,
   That a smile amends —
It took no more
   To make us friends.

From the poem, "Song," by Alice Duer Miller

I almost made it, until my local ATM wouldn't work and kept spitting my card back at me! I told the teller it wasn't a very funny April Fool's Day prank. She got all flustered and kept insisting that it wasn't a prank, that the thing must be broken. Sure, I said, veeerrry funny.... Then why, I asked, did the screen say, "Ha, ha, ha!" when it ejected my card? You should have seen her face as she exclaimed, "IT DID?!?" LaughingLaughing Happy April's Fool's Day! LaughingLaughing

I would say that you pulled the joke on the teller!  April Fool's Day is one of those days to laugh at ourselves and with others.  I love a day filled with laughter.  It is good for the soul!

I got through the day without any pranks and I didn't play any on anybody either.  Not so much fun that way, but I was happy all the way through it!

Good for you, Donna! Keep smiling, after all the best part of the deal is really that it's now April, and the winter is finally behind us.
